Burlington Senior, Sterling Stewart, had the opportunity to participate in the Page program under Senator Roland Pederson. This experience educates High School Juniors and Seniors about the state legislative process and lets students receive hands-on experience in many ways, including taking part in a mock legislative session with the other pages. Sterling served in the Capitol February 19th through the 22nd.
While serving as a page, Sterling worked on the Senate floor during the daily legislative sessions. He distributed notes from lobbyists, as well as current bills to the Senators. Sterling also sat in for a few committee meetings.
