Tuesday, December 6, will mark the first time that the Burlington Elks and Lady Elks can be watched live via the Internet. Through an agreement with CoachesAid.com, Burlington Public School is now able to stream events through a web portal on the CoachesAid website. Tuesday's home game versus South Barber is the first time this portal will be used. At this time, only the home games for the high school teams will be streamed, but plans are being developed to stream a larger variety of events as the school year goes on.
To access the web portal, visitors must go to Burlington's page on the CoachesAid site ( http://coachesaid.com/school.aspx?school=12786). When the stream is available, a green icon will appear on the map and in the streamer console that appears on the page. Double-clicking either of those icons will load the page where the video feed can be watched. Visitors also have the option to watch the video full-screen at that point. The site requires all viewers to have the most recent version of Adobe Flash Player.
Advertising space is available for sponsors. Those interested in purchasing advertising space/time may contact Coach Turney at 580-431-2222.

Burlington School will be hosting our annual Veterans Day Program,
honoring all Veterans of the Armed Forces. This program is a community
event, open to the public. The purpose of this program is to celebrate
and honor the service and sacrifice of our American Veterans. By recognizing
and honoring our Veterans, we are also providing a legacy of history
and tradition for our students and for the people in the community.
Our Veteran’s Day Assembly will be November 11, 2009 at 8:30
A.M. in the auditorium. All Veterans and their guests are
welcome. We also welcome any member of the public to join with us
in our effort to celebrate and pay respect to our Veterans. We request
that any Veteran or publically elected official notify us of your
intention to come so that we can acknowledge your presence during
our program.
This year we would like to create a memorial video to play during
our program. Any and all pictures of Veterans in single or group service
time photos would be appreciated. Please include a short description
of the picture, and include the relationship of any student to the
individual(s). Please submit photos to Mrs.
Marteney in person or by emailing as soon as possible. Copies will be returned after the
program.

It's finally here! The new Burlington School website has been redesigned
with the help of Tonya Randall and Cory Claflin. As our students learn
how to work on the website, the content will be maintained by the
web design class under the direction of Mr. Randall.
With this new site, we are allowing better access to information
that meet transparency regulations for students, parents and community
members. We are also very excited to offer information about our student
organizations as well as scholarships and weekly schedules.
Please keep in mind that this has been a massive undertaking by volunteers.
If you come across a page on our website that is outdated, not working
or incomplete, please let us know by contacting Mr. Randall.
